Questions we hear most

Do I need a referral?

In Ohio you can start physical therapy without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and our front desk tells you before your first visit. If something needs a physician's eyes first, your therapist says so.

Does my plan cover this?

We bill many kinds of plans and tell you whether we are in network with yours before you book. Your plan decides what it pays. Our front desk checks your benefits and calls you before the first visit.

What if we pay ourselves?

You pay on the day of each visit, and we give you a written estimate before the first one. Ask the front desk about reduced-fee spots for families who need them.

How long is a visit, and who treats my athlete?

A first visit takes about an hour. A physical therapist treats you at every visit, and you see the same therapist as often as the schedule allows.

How many visits will it take?

Nobody can say before the exam. It depends on what your therapist finds, how your body responds, what your sport asks of it and how the schedule allows. Your therapist talks it through with you at each visit.

What should my athlete wear and bring?

Clothes and shoes for the sport, so we can watch the movements that matter. Bring a water bottle, any notes from a physician or coach, and the name of your school's athletic trainer.

Will it hurt?

We work within what you can tolerate. Some exercises feel hard and some positions are uncomfortable, and you can tell your therapist to stop or change anything at any time.

Can some visits be by video?

Some follow-up visits can be held by video for patients in Ohio, where we are licensed. A first visit is in person, so your therapist can examine you.

What if the injury came from a car crash or a job?

Tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care, and we explain what that means for you before you start.

Who decides when an athlete can play again?

Your physician decides when you are medically cleared. We share what we measure, from strength and movement to how you do in sport drills, with your physician, athletic trainer and coach. We don't set a return date.
